Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre (ISLRTC), New Delhi

  • The Government has approved establishment of Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre (ISLRTC) as a Society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 in September, 2015. The main objective of the Centre is to develop manpower for using, teaching and conducting research in Indian Sign Language.
  • The Centre conducts Diploma course in Indian Sign Language Interpretation (DISLI). ISLRTC has designed a new course namely Diploma in Teaching Indian Sign Language (DTISL) and it has been approved by Rehabilitation Council of India. Action is under process to prepare the sign language dictionary of about 6000 words. Dictionary of 3000 words (1st phase) was launched by the Centre on 23.03.2018.
